Hey Doug,
really nice pages, you obviously enjoy doing Zinc Alloy.
And Yeah babies really do love the warm bath. the first twelve months of sleepless nights, crying and not know what the hell you are doing. will soon all be forgtten and all you will remember is that cute smile as they stare knowingly into your eyes or is that just wind.
great job on both comics and fatherhood.
cheers

Nice pages! Cute baby too! I just had a second baby last weekend, a girl. I had almost forgotten the hellish all nighters. O my.

How you getting work done? I'm getting zip done with a new bub in the house. Hope it settles down soon and I can move some work out.

These look great!

Hey Craig! Congrats on the new arrival! Does she have a name?

I do NOT envy you. Angus has only just really started to settle down in the last couple of weeks (we're at about 5 months), still struggles to sleep during the day but thankfully nights are becoming a little more consistent and the inconsolable screaming has all but stopped (we've had some pretty dark weeks the last 5 months).

I took about 8 weeks off when he was born. So work wasn't really a huge issue to begin with. Once the 8 weeks was up it took me another couple to get back into it...but deadlines were needing to be hit so i didn't really have a choice...tough when he's going crazy and Al is at the other end of the flat trying to settle him.

But as a i said...things are slowing down and it's getting a little easier to find a good work balance!

Hope you're well!!

Oh man I hear ya! We were EXACTLY the same with our first one, Eli. He never slept. It took 8 months of hellish nights and bleary days before we finally followed the schedule of a lady by the name of Gina Ford and within 2 weeks he was sleeping through. We just applied the schedule to Maria, and now she is sleeping through, within a week! The schedule is fool proof! We sent it to three of our friends who were also having trouble and within two weeks they had no problems. I wish someone could have showed us earlier when we had Eli. I thought i was losing my mind on some of those long nights. We did not sleep a wink for 8 months. People who haven't got kids couldn't possibly relate to that sleep deprivation.

And yes, working on top? Forget it. I was on deadlines about a week or two after Eli was born and everything got really messy. Luckily now my works is freed up a lot more, and bubs is settling now super quick. So its all good. It is hard to, like you said, when you are in your room painting and you can hear your wife struggling down the hall. I even get kinda guilty about it too. Cant focus, stop to help. But at the end of the day, business needs to be done to put food on the table.

Well glad its working for you now mate. Only good times ahead. Its REALLY rewarding from now on. The next three years are going to be awesome. Best years. Just the first bit, well, its not exactly bliss. I love fatherhood its great.

Cool pages by the way. You are a lot faster than I!
I have three stories in the pipes, all fairytales, but, the time to get them done is minimal. I am keen to get into my own comics again.
